Reporting to the Food Service Director, the Hospitality Supervisor oversees daily operations across housekeeping and food services within the facility. This hands-on leadership role ensures high standards of cleanliness, safety, and meal service while fostering a respectful, responsive, and team-oriented environment. The Supervisor plays a key role in staff development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance resident experience and operational excellence.

Job Responsibilities

Housekeeping Oversight


•    Supervise Housekeeping Attendants and ensure adherence to cleaning protocols and infection control standards
•    Conduct staff orientation, training, and performance evaluations
•    Develop work schedules and assign duties based on facility needs
•    Monitor quality assurance programs and recommend improvements
•    Participate in product/equipment evaluations and special cleaning projects
•    Maintain safe, orderly work environments and uphold professional standards
•    Support departmental planning, staffing, and communication initiatives
•    Assume Housekeeping Manager duties during absences

 

Food Services Oversight


•    Supervise cooks and dietary aides, ensuring timely and accurate meal production and delivery
•    Conduct daily audits and rounds with unit leads and residents
•    Coordinate catering, special projects, and ARAMARK program implementation
•    Manage food and supply orders, equipment maintenance, and sanitization logs
•    Prepare and adjust staff schedules to maintain coverage
•    Cover shifts as needed and support front-line routines
•    Respond proactively to resident concerns and service expectations

 

Team Leadership & Collaboration


•    Foster positive working relationships across departments
•    Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, residents, and stakeholders
•    Participate in facility and community meetings as assigned
•    Promote a culture of safety, respect, and continuous learning

Qualifications

Mandatory:

 

•    Strong verbal and written communication skills
•    Experience managing Union employees following CBA terms
•    Physical ability to perform hands-on tasks and walk throughout the facility
•    Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and fast-paced environments
•    Clean Criminal Record Check

 

Preferred:


•    3+ years of experience in hospitality or food services within healthcare or senior living
•    Degree or certification in hospitality, nutrition, or related field
•    Knowledge of regulatory standards (Advanced FST, WHMIS, OH&S, Infection Control)
•    Experience with scheduling, audits, and team supervision

Education

Associates preferred
Minimum 1-2 years experience
