Job Responsibilities

Setting up and breaking down work stations

Prepare food using appropriate techniques of cooking under the guidance of his supervisor.

Produce the Mise en Place Kitchen and assists others as needed

Perform such other duties assigned by the supervisor and maybe ask assist other departments whenever necessary.

Improves skills by learning and practicing the skills and responsibilities of a First Cook

Maintains a neat, well-groomed, professional appearance.

Monitoring food quality during food preparation

Washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables

  • Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers
  • Preparing ingredients for cooking, including chopping and storing food
  • Attends functions for plate-up, carving, serving, sauté station, running food, etc.
  • Position involves evenings and weekends based on scheduled events, must work holidays, weekends, and varied shifts


  • Food Safe certification required or obtain Food Handlers card within 30 days of employment
  • High school diploma / G.E.D. equivalent
  • Frequent bending, standing and walking for extended periods of time required
  • One year of experience as a 3rd cook in a hotel or restaurant
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 11.5 kilograms (25 pounds) without assistance
  • Good understanding of restaurant, banquet procedures.
