Job Description
As Assistant Camp Director, you will assist the Camp Director in operating the facilities, which includes the following responsibilities: guest services, reporting, commissary, kitchen/food service, and maintenance. Your task will be to effectively manage the employees and resources at your disposal.
This position is multi-site in nature, involving management and coordination across multiple locations.
Ability and willingness to travel/work away from home on extended rotations.
- Two weeks at camp, then two weeks off.
- At camp, most days include a 10- to 12-hour shift.
- Aramark will cover your travel expenses from your home to the camp and back.
- Room and board are provided at no additional cost while you are at camp.
Job Responsibilities
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of an account with multiple remote locations
• Manage employees effectively through appropriate coaching and development
• Ensure that guests/customers on site receive superior customer service
• Prepare budgets and forecasts, and perform other financial tasks related to operations
• Place orders for all necessary supplies
• Supervise and train employees, establish schedules to ensure the best possible customer service
• Perform reception duties and all other responsibilities associated with the role of administrator
• Submit daily, weekly, and bi-monthly reports to the client and Aramark
• Ensure regular communication through daily site meetings
• Be responsible for establishing a safety-first culture on site
• Perform all required facility checks related to the kitchen, food service, commissary, and maintenance
• Support HR in processing payroll for front-line employees and assist them in managing their concerns
• Support the camp director by effectively controlling inventory and communicating any issues related to forecasts
Qualifications
• At least three years of management experience, preferably in a remote camp or in the hospitality/tourism sector
• At least three years of administrative experience (WHMIS or food safety certification is an asset)
• Proven leadership skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, comfortable with computer tools
• Impeccable driving record
• Ability to work in a unionized environment
• Exceptional communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
