ARAMARK is Hiring a Pastry Chef for the Manic-5 Site

Position: Pastry Chef

Location: Manic-5

Salary: $26.26 per hour, with annual increases based on union negotiations.

• Overtime is paid at time and a half.

Schedule: 14 days on / 14 days off rotation.

Employees are provided with meals and accommodation, including a private bedroom and bathroom. Washer and dryer facilities are also provided.

Aramark offers a transportation allowance as well as highly competitive group insurance benefits.

Candidates must reside in the Baie-Comeau area or be able to travel to the Baie-Comeau airport.

Job Responsibilities

Serve meals for Hydro-Québec employees at Manic-5 and participate in the management and daily operations of the kitchen.

• • Prepare and bake a variety of pastry products (cookies, pies, pastries, etc.).
  • Cook and prepare various food items according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
  • Set up the workstation with all required ingredients and equipment.
  • Prepare recipes and special orders.
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, etc.
  • Bake pre-prepared products.
  • Apply icing and decorate pastries.
  • Assist with other food preparation tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Preference will be given to candidates holding a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or both.
• Must have experience preparing and baking both traditional and modern pastries.
• A strong culinary background is considered an asset.
• MAPAQ certification is required.
• Ability to meet operational requirements.
• Participate in kitchen cleaning and all other duties related to the position.
• Ensure that hygiene, sanitation, and food safety programs are always followed.
