Aramark is seeking an experienced Food Service Manager to oversee multiple sites in remote locations. This strategic role combines operational leadership, culinary excellence, and team management in a challenging environment with rotating schedules.

  • Aramark will cover transportation between your home and the site, by plane from Montreal or Quebec City airports.
  • The workplace is located in Baie-Comeau.
  • Meals and accommodation at the camp are provided at no additional cost.

Job Responsibilities

  • Works in a remote location on a rotational schedule.
  • Reporting to the General Manager, this role oversees all operations across multiple sites and ensures the consistent application of operational standards for a major client in the Québec region.
  • Delivers strong operational performance by adhering to Aramark’s standards and programs, continuously monitoring operations, conducting evaluations, and developing action plans to ensure optimal food quality and service, while enhancing client satisfaction.
  • Ensures compliance with all physical and food safety standards.
  • Interacts with clients and maintains effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Identifies opportunities to expand Aramark’s services.
  • Provides overall leadership and manages the performance of all food service managers, supervisors, and frontline employees, ensuring employee development, engagement, and compliance with HR policies and standards, including conducting regular rounding.
  • Leads, staffs, and trains the food service team on presentation, quality, cost control, and cash handling.
  • Develops operational forecasts and is able to explain variances. Responsible for component-level accounting functions.
  • Ensures compliance with all contractual obligations.
  • Performs any other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Relevant education in hospitality management or significant experience in the hospitality and food service industry
  • A bachelor's degree is considered an asset
  • Being a certified dietitian manager or a registered dietitian is considered an asset
  • Requires at least 6 years of experience in food service management
  • Strong communication skills (listening, verbal, and written) with both clients and support staff
  • Proven ability to understand food costs and usage
  • Demonstrated commitment to high quality standards, with experience identifying issues in food preparation and service, and implementing improved quality control procedures
  • Extensive experience in food service operations
  • Ability to write letters, summaries, and reports following prescribed formats and adhering to grammar and punctuation rules
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics
  • Requires strong management and leadership skills, along with the ability to handle confidential information related to employees, clients, and ARAMARK
  • Proven ability to respond effectively to changing client demands
  • Strong computer skills
