As a Food Service Worker on our Food Services team at the Nova Scotia Community College Pictou campus, you'll be at the heart of our campus community—bringing speed, smile, and quality service to our daily dining operations!
Job Responsibilities
- Assures quality, courteous customer service is provided to all customers
- Food preparation in accordance with menu at assigned station
- Educate customers on menu items, daily features, dining hall events
- Light cash handling duties including processing customer transactions, balancing float, participating in audits
- Maintain a continual cleaning and sanitizing of surrounding work area
- Stock and merchandise shelves, cereal and bread bar, salad bar, and coolers
- May wash and sanitize dishes and utensils
- Record temperatures, label products in accordance with FIFO, complete waste log and cleaning log
- Adhere to all Aramark and NSCC policies and procedures
- May perform other job duties as required
Qualifications
- Previous food service experience is an asset
- Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced), First Aid Certification is an asset
- Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene.
- Additional certification may be required by work location
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
